Too wired to sleep?

   Posted by: admin   in Humor

A whopping one third of the 100 teens in any school of the united states study said they fell asleep in school at least twice a day, and only 20 percent got 8 hours of shut-eye on chool nights. The two big culprits caffeine and technology. Kids who snoozed during class consumed seventy six percent more. And the more they multitasked with tech gadgets (texting, talking on the cell, listening to an IPOD), the fewer hours they slept.

Obviously, no teen’s going cold turkey, gives a few ground rules: limits caffeinated drinks (including energy drinks like Red Bull) to one a day and turn off cell phones and computers an hour before bedtime.” This gives the brain time to slow down and get into sleep mode.”
